Christian Pulisic told why his Chelsea future is settled despite Raheem Sterling transfer blow. The future for Christian Pulisic seems to be looking quite bright. The American was once linked with a move away but has since settled into Thomas Tuchel's side and found his feet once again within the team. Chelsea's new American owners may have had a say on what Pulisic's future will look like at Chelsea, but the 23-year-old has given Tuchel and fans a number of reasons to stick by him and remain patient.
Pulisic has not been shy of making his intentions to play more known. Last season, he admitted to wanting more playing time under Thomas Tuchel and his wish was granted towards the latter end of the season. The American produced a number of frustrating performances leaving him notably annoyed - most famously after his miss against Leicester City at the back end of the season.
As a young player hungry for more, it's only normal that he be frustrated with a lack of game time. With Raheem Sterling now in the picture, could Pulisic get his wish and be rewarded with more game time? Or will it be back to square one?
In 2019, Christian Pulisic was set to become another successful Chelsea investment. Sharing similar attributes to Eden Hazard, he was destined for greatness. Injuries hampered his progression, it seems as though the American has found a solution to his shortcomings in the past. Last season Pulisic was fit from October onwards which begged the question of why he wasn't used as much. He only played 38 matches and acted as a centre-forward for 9 of those games.

Coming from the wing, Pulisic has proven to be a lethal weapon when unleashed. A run of games and full confidence from the manager can set him apart from everyone else in the team. Thomas Tuchel is vocal about Sterling's work rate and perfect attributes, but it could be argued that Pulisic could be an exact replica if given the chance. There is also the option of using Pulisic in a more creative role where he enjoyed playing behind the striker. A more free-flowing role to really utilise his strengths on the ball.
It looks like the American still has at least another two years to go with the Blues as his contract expires in 2024. What started off as a transfer window that could see Pulisic's exit is now a window proving that he's here to stay. The 23-year-old feature in all three of Chelsea's pre-season friendlies so far, scoring one goal as a result. The plans to keep him are clear, but it could mean bad news for others in the pecking order.
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech are still on record as Chelsea players. The welcoming of Sterling has undoubtedly called into question the amount of game time they will have next season, and if Pulisic hits the ground running - Tuchel may run out of happy players.
